Berry Pen Cottage has a modern interior, newly created in 2016 from a much older property, which at one time provided stabling and groom’s quarter for Kingham Lodge.
The cottage sleeps six people with three en-suite bedrooms, one of which we have specially created on the ground floor with a large shower room to be suitable for guests with disabilities. There is a large open plan living area, open fire and south facing terrace gardens with views to the distant hills.
The property is situated in a quiet, attractive private gravelled courtyard of just five properties including Lodge Cottage, another of our holiday properties.
Upstairs, the master bedroom has a super king size brass bedstead, comfortable chairs and freesat TV with freesat and DVD player, and a beautiful en-suite bathroom with bath, walk-in shower, vanity unit and WC. The second upstairs bedroom has a pair of single brass beds that can be zip-and-linked together as required and comfortable chairs. The en-suite has a bath, walk in shower, vanity unit and WC. The third bedroom is on the ground floor and can have one or two single beds as required and a spacious shower room suitable for wheelchair access. Additional special aids are available on request.
The large, light open plan living area has comfortable sofas and chairs and an open fire. The dining table can be extended to seat up to 16 people. The kitchen has a double oven, microwave, dishwasher and American style side-by-side fridge/freezer. There is a separate utility room with sink, clothes washer/drier and ceiling airer. A travel cot, high chair and stair gate are supplied in the property and a larger cot or newborn cradle can be supplied on request (£20 supplement). The property has all new double glazed windows, underfloor heating and a pressurised water system to ensure great pressure for your shower.
The south facing garden is terraced with drystone Cotswold walling and is accessed through large glazed double doors and is wheelchair accessible.
There is parking for two cars at the front of the property and if necessary a third car can be parked in the drive of Kingham Lodge. About 100 yards from Berry Pen, guests have access to the glorious pool and traditional Turkish hammam and 5-acre garden that are enjoyed by all Kingham Cottages guests.
Because of the high quality furnishings in our properties we do not accept pets or allow smoking.
