Berry Pen Cottage was re-created in 2016 from a much older property, which at one time provided stabling and groom’s quarters for Kingham Lodge. It now has a wonderful modern, light and open plan interior with rustic character features. One well behaved dog can stay with you on the ground floor at Berry Pen.
The cottage sleeps five to six people in three en-suite bedrooms, one of which we have specially created on the ground floor with a walk-in shower room suitable for guests with disabilities. There is a large open plan living area, open fire and south facing terrace gardens with views to the distant hills from the first floor.
The property is situated in an attractive private gravelled courtyard of just five properties including Lodge Cottage, another of our holiday properties.
Upstairs, the master bedroom has a super-king size brass bed, comfortable chairs and TV with freesat and DVD player, a beautiful en-suite bathroom with bath, walk-in shower, vanity unit and WC. The second upstairs bedroom has a pair of single brass twin beds that can be zip-linked together on request, comfortable chairs and dressing table. This en-suite also has a bath, walk in shower, vanity unit and WC. The third bedroom is on the ground floor and can have one or two single beds as required, it features an en-suite wet-room suitable for wheelchair access. Additional special aids for the shower room are available on request.
The large, light open plan living area has comfortable sofas and chairs and an open fire. The dining table can be extended to seat up to 16 people. The kitchen has a double oven, separate microwave, dishwasher and American style fridge/freezer. There is a separate utility room with washing machine/drier, sink, ceiling airer and additional glassware & crockery for larger parties.
A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are supplied in the property and a larger cot or newborn cradle can be supplied on request (£20 supplement). The property has double glazed windows, underfloor heating throughout and a pressurised water system to ensure great pressure for your shower.
The south facing garden is terraced with drystone Cotswold walling and flagstones, accessed through wide glazed doors and is wheelchair accessible.
There is parking for a car at the front of the property and if necessary an additional car can be parked in the drive of Kingham Lodge. About 100 yards from Berry Pen, guests have access to our glorious pool, traditional Turkish hammam and 5-acre garden that are enjoyed by all Kingham Cottages guests.
We provide bed linen, bath towels and pool towels. All our cottages are no smoking.
